Recommend me a car battery

Post by CARRisma » Wed May 11, 2016 6:27 pm

My car battery has died. I need a new one by Friday morning at the latest. Can anyone recommend me a good car battery? Preferable a battery stocked by either Halfords or Euro Car parts - something readily available. Are there any better than a standard Honda battery?

Halfords do yuasa batteries. Not the cheapest but if you need one quick then I doubt you can go wrong with a yuasa.

There should be a specific battery code that fits the prelude, but I normally just buy the cheapest battery with the terminals the right way round and roughly the same CCA's and amp hours. I think I was scorned for this at some point but I've not had trouble yet

I had a Yuasa one for my 5th gen. It worked.

I recently got a battery from http://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk.

Genuine Honda OEM battery

Was around £60 and delivery for £4ish.. Came nicely packed and had a great communication from the guy.

I've chosen an Exide Premium:

Currently advertised on the Euro Car Parts web site for £104.99 (was £110.40), however with a 25% discount code I'm getting it for only £78.74.

My Honda battery which I fitted in October 2009 is rated at 70 Ah / 500 A. The Exide Premium is 75 Ah / 630 A so should be better.
