H22a5 into 2.0 body issues

Post by Mikewoods1 » Sun Aug 21, 2016 9:57 pm

Hello, am new to the forum and really would like some help.
I just bought a gen5 lude, 2.0 car with h22a5 conversion done. Seller said vtec doesn't work but we took gamble and bought the car.
The car doesn't have vtec oil pressure switch, the vtec solenoid we checked by hooking to battery terminal and can hear it clicking so presume that works. We cleaned the solenoid, checked oil pressure etc and all fine. We then followed the wire back from vtec solenoid to the other end of plug (green and yellow wire) and nothing attached other side. We then checked Ecu and googled Ecu code 37820-p5n-g01 and looks like it still has the 2.0 Ecu?? If that's the case how come car still runs and drives? How do I go about getting vtec to work? Any help is hugely appreciated

Will running a wire from vtec solenoid to the 2.0 Ecu vtec solenoid pin work?

nope the 2.0 never came with vtec so wont have a connection inside the ecu afaik and being a 5g you cant just swap the ecu either as the ecu key ignition are all linked
I am sure there is a way of doing it and i am sure someone will be along with better news

Presume I need new Ecu, but gen5 then needs all stuff for immobiliser etc, would easiest solution be to buy obd1 p28 Ecu from h tune with obd2 to obd1 adaptor cable?
