JDM SiR 5th gen - Sold

Post by mills » Sun Jan 08, 2017 4:52 pm

Selling my old beloved prelude as spares or repair. This car still runs well, but is in need of tlc and a bit of work to get it road worthy again. Mileage is on 167K, engine is a bit smokey but still pulls well and starts 1st time.

No mot on the car as it has been off the road just over a year, but is still turned over every now and then, tyres pumped up and moved about to keep things going.

To get it through another mot, it would need rear drop links replacing, outer cv boot replacing on the front passenger side (another complete drive shaft with decent boots will be supplied), front hub replacing as 2 studs have snapped off (or replace the studs if you can), abs doesn't work, needs abs pump and a sensor (will supply these from my donor which has fully working abs). Off the top of my head this would probably be it.

Body work is a bit tatty in places, mainly being the front bumper. Rear arches are great, only minimal rust on the inner lip of the 1 side. Rust around the boot lock and a bad patch from where the type S badge was when I 1st bought the car
And there is a patch on 1 of the rear quarter panels that has started to blister. This has happened quite recently as I've never noticed it before and I used to clean this car religiously every week. Front of the bonnet needs attention due to stone chips. Paint on the Wing mirrors has flaked on top, and the power folding doesn't work brilliantly, sometimes needs a bit of help to make them fold.

Good bits, it's got the M2T4 lsd gearbox, started to develop a bit of 5th gear crunch a while ago so was treated to some amsoil gearbox oil which sorted it right out. But I would recommend doing it again some time soon to keep it sweet ;)
Full stainless 2.5" cobra sport exhaust system, 4" tail pipe, quite loud but not raspy, and gives off a great sound in vtec :P
SiR front upper strut brace.
JDM center console with the cup holder 8-)
JDM rear bumper in great condition.
Full set of 17" motegi alloys with matching tyres with good tread all round. Wheels ideally would need a refurb as paint has started bubbling in places and a few kerb marks, but still very presentable.
Drilled and grooved front brake discs with a lot of life left in them.
ATR clutch kit and XTD lightened flywheel.
JDM front fog lights.

Price is £400 ovno, I know I could make more than that breaking it, but I don't really want to as there's still plenty of life left in the old girl, and i haven't really got the time these days, and I would like to see this car restored and maybe see out her time as a track toy. With a bit of engine work and some suspension mods, it would make a great track car as it has always been a quick lude 8-)

Private plate (K40S XL) will not be included, registration will be returned to the original P reg the car was 1st registered with.

Yes bud 5 stud, apart from the 1 corner as mentioned that has only 3 studs as 2 have snapped off. And tyres are all good, lots of tread left.

I know mate. It's been a great car in the 7 years I've owned it, never let me down apart from the clutch going. Which reminds me of something I forgot to mention in the ad :!: this car has an ATR clutch kit and XTD lightened flywheel, all purchased from h-tune, and has probably done about 50K.
