Fuel filler neck rust free 5th gen 2.2

Post by Max » Mon Apr 10, 2017 8:55 pm

As above, either people don't get back to me or they want too much money!

Not sure if there is a difference between 2.0 and 2.2 fuel tanks, probably not, PM me with pics and price please :)

Cheers

How bad is yours Max?

Rusted all the way through or just surface?

The beauty is if it's just surface that is a part that's quite easy to remove and clean up. Or alternatively if you can't find a rust free one get a solid one with surface in it and clean it up yourself then swap over.

A combination of mechanical methods and putting in a bath of bilt hamber deox c solution should do it. Then paint or Dynax it.

Just a different option if you get stuck with your search.

Thanks for the help Craig, it cant be rusted all the way through as theres no fuel seeping out, but it looks bad to me, ive refurbed a few rusted parts before and this just doesn't look like one i want to fix so while ive got the rear stripped i thought it would be a good point to swap it.

Hey ho we'll see if something comes up, if not ill have to try fixing it :(

I could check the one on my donor but I've never removed one before. How easy is it :?:
