Type S Front Right Upper Control Arm

Post by Max » Thu Apr 20, 2017 12:05 pm

Probably a long shot i know but im after a driver side front upper control arm as someone in their infinite wisdom swapped it for a UK one :?

I dont mind if the balljoint boot is split as long as the joint itself is in good condition with no play, nor am i too fussed about the bushes.

I need this asap as ill be ordering a few bits from the states soon and id rather avoid buying new!

Cheers
Max

The fronts are longer to account for the difference in the front suspension layout, there's nothing stopping you from using UK ones but you end up with excessive camber especially if you plan to lower it...

The difference appears to be about 15mm in length, and for some reason the bushes are different too.

This, the reason being the usdm SH has atts and the same suspension as type s so more common over there. Or a secondhand one from the states if you prefer should be easier to locate than here.

Guys, as above theres nothing wrong with it and im happy to refurb, the issue is someone installed a UK one, i dont have a Type S one to install.

Im on a budget with this build and im not sure what to buy as there are multiple options, could buy the Moog ones ($71.33) from ES while im picking up the bushes, which i assume are top quality since ES list them on their site. Or on ebay there are the A1 Auto ones ($44.90) with a lifetime warranty, or the AM Autoparts ones ($36.89) with a 10 year guarantee, cant see any genuine ones listed...

Thanks for mentioning that @4thgenphil i hadnt thought to look at their website, its seems they do the Moog ones for $45.90 which is a nice middle ground price wise not far off the cheaper ebay stuff so i think ill go with that, unless one magically appears on here in the next day or so :)

Btw @4thgenphil which ones exactly did you buy from Rockauto that seemed decent to you as they have a few brands listed?
