Lude automatics?
Lude automatics?
Hi everyone,
I have just discovered the Lude and looking to buy one as my first car. My wife drives automatics, my main question is there any issues with the Lude automatic. I'm currently eyeing up a 1998 2.0i Motegi with 95,000 miles.
Any info would be amazing!
Cheers fellas

I have changed my auto oil 3 times to keep it luvly and cherry red.
Also I don't use the tiptronic mode just use normal 4 gear drive.
Cheers

My first Lude was an automatic and I loved every single mile, but there weren't many. Two gearbox changes later it was time to give up and move on
My advice would be to persuade your wife to drive a manual. I got my license last year and so with my limited bandwidth preferred concentrating on the road rather than the gear changes, but after gaining a bit more experience and confidence, I was convinced by my husband, his brothers and my own of the superior enjoyment of driving a manual, and I have to say they were right. Now and then in stop-start traffic I still miss the easy cruising in an auto, but mostly love being in full control of my revs
With Ludes, you're gonna be buying second hand and so can't trust that the previous owners have given it the careful oiling care its auto box needs. I'd hate to see anyone end up with the same heartache as I did of falling in love with the car and then not being able to drive it when the box goes - not to mention the money spent on trying to fix it, or the tears when saying goodbye!
