mine was stored for 5 1/2 years. mostly in a garage but maybe a year outside.
lifted it off the tires, took battery out, bung up the exhaust and intake (mice), 5-10 kg of silica gel in open bags inside engine bay, cabin and boot. (ebay or pets at home, its posh cat litter with odor guards in it but its pure silica so amazing at keeping moisture down) covered with a couple of old duvet cases. wipe over all the interior plastics and such with an anti mold cleaner. lift up the back seats and open the ski port so its all able to flow. hand brake off, crack the windows...not open at all, just take the pressure off the frame, this will gently allow a bleed of air but wont offer a flow..
started at least once a year.
when outside was just floating about getting moved when needed. not very good....
what would I do different? Mouse traps inside......the last 4months of its storage they finally got in and nibbled the bloody seats! set them, 4 maybe, one in each foot well and check weekly. better a smelly cockpit than nibbled seats.
also one of those cheap solar panels fitted to power something like a small hand fan fixed inside. this would be a passive/active vent system. when powered the fan would gently move the air about. this would totally stop mold or stagnant air building up.
after that time it needed a new ignition module, knock sensor and a sensor for the atts and all the CEL clearing. mice are your biggest foe if you handle moisture and the silica get is the bomb
