Polishing and Waxing Thoughts

Hi Guys

For a while now I haven't been polishing my Lude just wahing and waxing.
Today I tried to polish it using MER polish that i have had for a while.
Realised why I hadn't used it for a while , it is REALLY hard to buff off

Anyone else on here had an issue with MER polish

Any recomendations for a polish that is easy on and easy to buff off and really good

I'm currently polishing by hand although I may think about getting a DA polisher at some point.
Not too bothered about budget I'm just looking for the best one that is also easy to buff off.

First off i’d get a G3 clay mitt from Halfords. Clay the car with plenty of shampoo/water lube to try and avoid further marks or scratching. This will smooth the paint and make the polishing/waxing much easier.

For polishing by hand, Autoglym Super Resin Polish will be as good as anything, it has abrasives but also heavy fillers so is ok by hand. Maybe then top it off with a good filling glaze such as Prima Amigo for slickness and extra gloss. Finish off with a wax of your choice. I’ve found Britemax Vantage a lovely easy to remove all round wax.

just been and brought a clay mitt as my car is in need of a good once over , found one on ebay for almost £4 cheaper than halfords item number 202287699551 , hope this helps .

This set is basic and easy to use. Buffs off easily.

Bilt Hamber stuff is highly recommended as well.

If it's been a few years since the car has had a polish, etc. I'd recommend this stuff. Dead easy to use, spray on, leave it a minute or so and then rinse off. It'll remove a lot of built up crap in the paintwork. I think it really helped bring out the shine in my friends car.
Once wash, use this stuff. Then clay bar or liquid clay if you are lazy like me.

Polish, hand polish and do use one of those circular sponge things, helps you get an even pressure and even spread.

Bilt Hamber also do a post polish spray to clear residue.

Now your wax.

You can go crazy with these things with an infinite variety of products, @toadster - your car is looking mighty fine, but, if you feel you've built up swirls etc, then a good polish is in order

I'm going to give the autoglym polish a go maybe the clay mitt then a wax and see how I go

Your mates car looks nice and gleaming

Only problem with it

it's not Japanese
