Hi
My cruise isn't working, the dash light doesn't come on when you press the cruise button. I've checked the fuse, which is fine, and the ABS/4ws systems are all perfect as I'd spent the last few months rebuilding/recommissioning them, so both ABS and 4ws operate normally. Is there a cruise module that may be knackered, is there a quick check I can do to at least give me a starting point?
Regards

There is a big flow chart for diagnostics in the manual.
I need to follow it, its never worked in my car since i bought it. worth checking the clutch switch also as it wont activate if it thinks its pressed.

That's a job for tomorrow.
I don't really see the need for cruise on these, but, it's the only electrical item on the Prelude that's not functioning so it's more a case of being able to tick everything off my list.

Turn the switch on, be above 30mph and then press and hold the set button till it activates. Usually a second or two from memory. Just giving it a press doesn't work.

oooh - in my early 5th gen , the button press on the steering wheel would be instant, to activate/deactivate it.
Perhaps the later 5th gens are different - might explain why i seem to only have activated it on the test drive and never since...
Not sure if the 4th gen is any different though?

A long shot but try pulling up the brake pedal. There is the CC cut off sensor behind the pedal and if the pedal droops, the CC wont turn on (or it turns itself off whilst you are driving).

Yeah i tried that, i had also assumed that the switch is the same for the brake light? perhaps 2 separate switches in the 1 body , so if brake lights aren't on, cruise shouldn't think its on either by my reckoning? Will double check it this weekend.
I have a spare cruise ECU from the early 5th gen , but not the actuator (sent that to russia!).

This is currently the issue with mine, how do you sort it? Adjust the pedal slightly so it sits a bit higher?
