Morning guys , got to the point it’s either let her go all go all in , getting price for full body restore on Monday , so now looking at sourcing an H22A to put under the bonnet , advice appreciated but if someone has a decent unit please let me know, seen an H22A on eBay for £800 but no mileage , anyway any help appreciated

I think the days of cheap H22 engines are gone, so £500+ is not unreasonable. If buying an engine I'd be removing spark plugs and dropping cameras in dark places to make sure it's pukka. Even hearing it running is no guarantee it's not an oil burner either.

I have a H22A kicking about - ive taken the head off to check the pistons/cylinder walls - all looks good - it came out of an 4th gen auto so wont have been over the red line.
Wouldnt cost that much to get it checked and put back together.

Also got an H22A8 head and cams if you wanted the best of 4th and 5th gens
