Primer colour??
Primer colour??
Just in the process of touching up the gen 4. My local autopaint shop mixed up the colour for me (Cassis Red Pearl R82P) the maroon looking one. When he handed it over he said to use grey primer for a better result?? I was going to use red primer?
. Has anyone heard of this before on this colour? Does it give a better result?

Primer colour??
The primer colour does make a slight difference. Most paints need a grey primer so it's not unusual.

Primer colour??
Absolutely. I'm a painter.
On blue pearl cars I use a very dark grey undercoat to help the colour hide the primer and develop better.
On bright reds I use a very white and very pale grey under coat, on medium reds I use a medium grey primer or undercoat.
