How many images do you use per pic? and how do you combine them?
I only use 1 capture, all of those pics are as they were taken barring a little tweak in photoshop to darken it down a bit. I always us a wide aperture of F3 or similar to capture the bacground. If I only want the subject to stand out I use something like F22 or higher.

I have experimented with combining multiple shots together but its more hasstle than its worth for the shots I'm currently trying. I have the remote trigger/clicker for my camera so I can use the bulb setting (unlimited exposure time), without it the max you can use is 30secs for my camera.

Yeah the last Samsung DLSR I had only had a time limit of 15 seconds which is only enough time to do the most basic of attempts, plus you usually end up screwing it up as your rushing around.

The only remote for my camera is a wired one

Unless there's some way to buy a remote that's wireless that uses the wired socket if you get what I mean

What camera do you have? The Canon EOS 1000D? Maybe you could use something like this:

I was looking at them, are they any good? Does it allow you to use bulb mode?

The shutter is open as long as you press the button, so for these night shots you can take as long as you like
