Prelude to a build

I stripped both sides of the front suspension and replaced all the ball joints and bushes.
I also cleaned up the inner arches and coated them in some bitumen spray for protection.

I haven't put the passenger side back together yet so I'll have a bit more room for when I change all the oil seals on that side during the week. I'm gonna replace the timing and balance belt while I'm in there too.

Did the timing side today. All the seals and new belts. It's getting close to being able to run again now.

I buttoned up the engine today and fired it up after building up the oil pressure first. It started first time and ran like a watch.
I was absolutely bricking it if I'm honest but all went well.
After I get the front back together it's on to the rear and then it'll off to get panel beaters to get the rear arches sorted.

Sanded and buffed my headlights, cleaned and painted my under trays and buttoned all the front.

The floor is planned for tomorrow and then it's off to get new inner and outer sills.

Nearly ready to send it off to have the inner amd outer arches replaced. I threw a new clutch slave cylinder into it for good measure too.

Mine were quite bad, I actually ended up going down as low as 400 grit to get them completely even. I then moved up in stages finishing at 3000 grit. I used a sanding block and tons of water.
After that I used a rotary buffer with some course compound and then a polish with a wool pad. I didn't bother using laquer, my friend said not to.
