Main steering angle sensor

Post by Tattmattoo » Wed Mar 14, 2012 7:28 pm

Hi guys and girls,
I have a 4ws warning light on my 5th gen 2.2 vti. I've tested for codes and it's flagging up a main steering angle sensor code. So I'm looking to replace it and wondered if anyone out there has one i could buy.
Thanks
Matt

Contact jozefsan, he might be able to help since he's broken a few 5Gs recently :)

Have you tried a full 4WS reset?

Thanks for your help guys. I have now got the sensor. I had already tried the full reset but light wouldn't go out. I am now looking for a guide that I have seen on a forum somewhere on how the replace the main steering angle sensor but I can't find I now. Any ideas?

I think you'll want the service manual for this job. It's hosted on a American Honda site.

When you do the job, I think you have to remove a bolt that keeps the rack tight. I found it took a few goes to get it just right. Too tight and the steering feels heavy, too loose and it feels light and unpredictable. It's worth setting that before you start setting the steering sensor as I think they're all on the same assembly. Definitely easier with 2 people, so someone can watch the dash light while you set the sensor.
