Engine Rattle... what is it?

(cant get it embedded.)

Hi Guys,

The video above is of my 2.2 1993 4th Gen.

This noise has come over the past 2 months and I've just topped up the oil (its recently had a change about 5months ago) thinking that was it... but its not going away.

Im not a mechanic so simple talk if possible.

The noise disappears when driving but comes back when the idling.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Also could be the cambelt tensioner (sounds kinda like a belt slapping on the housing).
Valve clearances are £300 give or take a little to have done at Honda. An independent may charge you less.

As a quick check, take the belt off the flower steering pump. Start it, and see if the noise is gone. It's amazing how incredibly awful the bearings in those pumps end up sounding as they die.
