Speedo/Dash Help

Post by David.slough » Sat May 26, 2012 12:38 pm

Hi,

I am trying to replace my EL Dials with a replacement set as my Rev counter is screwed. I have taken out all the screws I can get access to as below

But I cant seem to figure out how to get access to this screw (image from the replacement unit)

Is there a way of getting access to this screw without having to take out the rest of the dash?

If there isnt anyone know how you take out the rest of the dash as I can only see one screw at the top and nothing is moving!!

Thanks for looking and hopefully someone will know as my dash is somewhat in pieces at the moment :)

been a while but i think you have to take the screen out that covers the rest of the gauges. ones you've done it once its easy ;) i had to take my clocks out 4-5 time hours before i left for germany !

You have to remove the other dials unit on the left first as far as I can remember (been a long time since I had my dash apart!). Just look around the edge of the unit for any screws, and don't forget that it's held in place at the top by some clips as well so you'll need to rotate it bottom-out as your remove it.

*edit* what Phil said, it's just a cover on the left :) But there are metal clips at the top.

Crazy's write-up was a big help to me when I took mine apart. :10:

You can swap the odomoter over between the dials  You just remove the backplate (few screws) and the unit is held in by one or two screws as far as I remember ;)

You can see it in one of Crazys pics.
