Front engine mount - somethings a-miss...

Post by h10ndr » Sun Jun 03, 2012 8:28 pm

Hi,

Not sure, but I've noticed over the months my front engine mount (replaced with new 2 yrs ago) has moved from being aligned in the center of the metal support to over on one side. I dont think its gone, but when I checked the gearbox side engine mount I can see a beginnings of a spilt...

Could it be low at one side if this mount has gone, causing the front mount to move?

Hard to get pics of gearbox mount without removing the battery but hey...

Mount off center and metal now touching bracket....used to be central

Pics not really showing split at all - but one is there...

if your gearbox mouth is damaged it will cause whole engine sit in angle. dont leave it too long as you can lose your rear engine mouth.

but this look more like other side mouth

Thanks for looking... I think I will remove the battery so I can take a better look at the gearbox mount.
At least I can take better some better pics.

The passenger side mount looks fine ( isn't this one fluid filled? ) Doesn't it collapse if this one goes and make a mess?
