Still cant find Vtec!

Post by dagdamor » Mon Jun 04, 2012 10:40 pm

Need some help here guys. Still cant seem to get vtec to work on my Roverlude see here..............

http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/non-lud ... t2347.html

I have checked the following and all seems good..............
VSS
Water temp sensor
Oil pressure
Map sensor
TP sensor
Vtec solenoid is working if I apply voltage.
No vtec trigger coming from ECU :?:
Engine starts and runs fine seems quite quick, but vtec not working and rev limiter comes in at 6500 rpm.

Any ideas would be appreciated. I am so close with this conversion, just need some Vtec :?

I thought that if the engine wasn't up to temp/sufficient oil or oil pressure then VTEC was disabled and the rev limit was set at 6500?

Although I doubt you'd have made any of those mistakes :P

Maybe some pissy little sensor to do with oil somewhere is causing the non VTECness?

I am using P13 ecu, it is from JDM Manual transmission.. The donor car was an auto, and I still have the auto ecu but no vtec with that either. Which now gets me thinking/remembering? IIRC there was a thread on a USA forum concerning auto to manual swap and something had to be done with the gear stick position switch. :?: As I am still using auto wiring loom I am thinking that a cable in the ecu plugs could/could not be picking up a ground or voltage feed :? I will look on the interweb.
I have already checked water temp to ecu sensor, thanx for the thought though :D
Keep coming with the suggestions, we WILL beat this!!! :D

what are you calling 'vtec control' ?
Do you mean the vtec solenoid situated at the dizzy end of the head? if so then yes this is connected. the problem is it isnot getting a control signal from the ECU.
