urgent brakelines question

Post by 4th Gen Doug » Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:46 pm

Really appreciate any help you can give me on this one, I have taken off my old knackered master brake cylinder and tried to fit my shiney new one only to find the fittings for the lines are on the wrong side :o Turns out the knackered MC came from a civic.
Long story short, I'm talking to a mechanic while on a short weekend break who says that he can make some replacement lines but he needs to know how long they are..
I can't get a civic MC, so I have to use the new prelude one I have.
Can anyone help with the brakeline specs?
I'm guessing its from the MC to a splitter under the car?
Thanks
Doug

Yes it does have ABS, but I only have access to the net by my phone, so posting pics is a bit of a problem - reception is bum droppings here! :D
car is 200 miles away as well!

prelude master cylinders are a PITA seems alot of effort to redo all those lines, especially if the engine is in :?

Can you not just turn it (the MC) upside-down? :?

I can only fix animals :(. Why wouldn't that work though? Surely you could just quickly fab up a different bracket to utilise the original fixings on the MC itself and then it would still be in it's original location? Gotta be easier than replacing these lines you speak of

it's the brake fluid reservoir on top that creates and issue :D

my bets are is that he has the wrong master cylinder, i had real issues getting hold of one, the ones that turned up were from i think a LHD car, it was a few different suppliers aswell, drop nathan @ ituned a bell, he did have them in stock!
