woodruff key all worn away at one end where it fits to the pulley itself.

as you can see the pulley is sheared where the woodruff key sits

no idea whats caused the metal to shear like that??

phoned andy at vtec direct he's got one there £185 delivered so it looks like i'm going to have to bite the bullet

on a side note the dampener is perfect ,just wondering what could have caused the pulley to shear???

I think it's just a prelude thing that happens.

With NSXs a rubber damper geta unstuck and waers through the timing belt cover. That's just an NSX thing...

Looks like the bolt has worked loose and the wooble in the pulley has caused the damage. How is the pulley bolt? If they are inexpensive I would replace this as well just to be on the safe side.

As for the cause, I wonder if, despite the balancer shafts, the H22A has some nasty harmonics at high RPM?

The F20c in the S2000s do, which can unscrew your oil filter & even spark plugs!

Yeah, there is an S2k aftermarket bracket and fastener to stop the oil filter vibrating loose!!

    that's hilarious! After watching Nitin's video and reading this, the S2k is going down in my estimation - and I used to think they were awesome :(

I noticed a very slight wobble on mine yesterday :o, getting it checked out tomorrow... really worried about it  but also glad I spotted it before owt major happened.

I assume the harmonic balancer pulley can be replaced without without having to remove the timing belt off the crank bottom pulley?

Update: Had it inspected today by Dennis and John at http://www.ds-autoservices.co.uk. The pulley was checked for breakdown of the rubber inset section and it was all still in tact all the way around on both sides. It shimmers when looking at it more than a wobble. They assured me it will be fine. They showed me one from a deisel accord which they had replaced recently, and that had the rubber breaking up all over it....
