I've never heard of a stock H22 rod that 'just broke' on NA. They go because of oil starvation/spun bearings, detonation, or 10,000+ RPM.
how about h23? :?

PAW knowledge: a7 rods are different to a5 rods.

Definately staying N/A, 11.5:1 pistons would be a waste of time if chose to go boost.

Bearings were done 2k ago :) And if I get PAW to do the work they'll get done again if they're needed

Ratty, are they 11.5:1 pistons? If so how much would you want and can I have some dibs (if they're ok) ;)

It's something to do with the connection between the rod & piston.

I asked Rich about it before and he said the a5 rods can be modified to take a7 pistons but it's best to get the a7 rods.

Yes 11.5:1 with a +25 overbore. Got 7k miles on them. We will see if they have survived the blown engine. :ugeek: and the head. 8-)

 Cheers

Out of interest how much did the overboring cost to fit the pistons?

Guess it depends how high you rev. The extra stoke increases piston speed per RPM.

They are overbore pistonsas the block is susceptible to wear and tear. Even OEM pistons will come in a range of sizes. Previous owner rebuilt the car not me.

Reground crank and low oil.
