If you want to lose the power folding, I'm going to be swapping some power folding mirrors onto mine - you're welcome to the electric non-folding UKDM ones I have fitted (if you're painting them anyway)?

TBH my gears must be goosed as they dont really want to fold in. I think I last pressed the button over a year ago.

no need to remove door card - its a 5min job if youve done it before
