NOOOOOO!!! Oil issues again. Not sorted :(

Post by A1ex » Tue Jun 26, 2012 6:11 pm

Argh!

Got an oil circ issue again

Thankfully have a gauge installed this time, no oil pressure @ idle :scaredtoss: around 30psi @ 2500rpm which should be around 40psi.

I'm hoping it's the lesser of 2 evils and the oil levels just low. Don't have anywhere flat to park to check it properly tho.

Can you not jack it up til it's level and then check? Or push it onto a slab or something, etc etc.

Maybe. I'm thinking of heading to halfrauds which has a flat car park, is open til 8 and down a hill from my house. Buy some oil, check the level in their carpark, top it up and hopefully sort it

It's just over a mile, I got the pressure gauge so can see there is oil moving still it's just 0 at idle which is a bit scary

Is the low oil pressure light on? Maybe the sensor for your gauge is knackered?

A litre of mobil1 0-40 sorted that out, phew!

Was v strange, got in the car and fired up to go to halfrauds and the pressure was fine. Only difference was parked uphill instead of down when i noticed the issue, guess it was teetering on the edge.

Checked it a 1000miles ago, so burning a little but it is thin oil. Very happy to have that pressure gauge in now :)

@ BMCC, no oil pressure ligt anymore, the pressure sensor was replaced for the one with the gauge. Gauge or nothing for me now.

Sweet man. You must be chuffed as

Glad to hear all is well. Let that be a lesson to you not to let her run low on oil! :scaredtoss:
