^^^^auto nos has a taint of something like sulfur in it to prevent abuse. Otherwise its the canisters and they are not so cheap anymore.

I just asked SKY and they said its really the only thing they wont cover for. I have needed help from my insurer too many time over the past three years to start being a gentleman's sausage and hiding things from them. I cant afford to get caught is the truth.

no nos for james

but a turbo would only add about £150 per year   which seems crazy in that all that power is there ALL THE TIME :? :D

Fair play, at least they're honest with you :)

I'm thinking of the turbo route atm after a little snooping. Need to do some real research on the turbo design first tho to make sure it doesn't get over done. Need to figure out what the hell's happening with my oil pressure first mind :scaredtoss:

My turbo lude is insured with Sky and to be honest it really is not much more expensive at all, I've insured two turbo conversion and on both occasions it actually works out near enough the same. I pay just under £500 fully comp all declared with my wife who has less then 2 years driving included on the policy with 7 year NCB.

A point to note is that running a low boost set-up on a lude is a risk in the long term, my current engine has Mahle pistons and it seems super happy, but on my standard block after maybe a year or so with a 7psi turbo I started to get a bit more blow-by then I was happy with. Now I stripped the engine down and there was no visible sign of det or ringland failure which was good and my H22 even NA used oil like it was going out of fashion so I would'nt have considered it in prime condition before I slapped the turbo on it so I never really bottomed out if my standard block would have lasted longer.

The way I see it, is in reality H22s are not that hard to come by compared with turbo parts. So if you want boost, set-up a low boost turbo and run it for a while and see how you get on, just make sure you are prepared to put a new engine in at is at some point it goes south. Would be an ideal time to do a high boost build!!
