Or get an H22A8 and spend the remainder of your £3k making it a Type S!Ammo wrote:3k to spend?
Hold out for a Type-S you should get one for that, if not less and they are ALL manual and 220bhp with a trick traction control system called ATTS
Import only and you can be the envy of all the other luders lol

Re: hi
right so my heart is set on a vtec manual now.
its not gonna be staying standard for long with my aims being suspension and wheels to start with. but i have a question engine mods
i noticed that the engine doesnt rev as much as other honda's so using something like honda data are you able to raise the rev limit or are internal mods needed for this as cams, i have a thing for cams and have had uprated ones in nearly all of my cars lol. can anyone put my towards one some of the most modifed gen5's on here. also whats the compression ratio on these like many thanks again rich

You can raise to 9000K, but be prepared to replace all your oil seals - think Jay did this
He had an T-Bagged engine.
Remeber this is big engine compared to it's 1.6 / 1.8 cousins, with alot more touque. Peak power and VTEC cross over comes in a little earlier than the smaller engines.
Drive it for a while, you'll see you dont need a higher rev limit.
Most engine mods will have a negative effect - it's a good engine to strart with straight out of the box, with as much power already sqeezed out at the factory. You can spend 1000's on cams and pistons for an extra 20bhp! might as well just get a Type S or ATR.
Compression Ratios are around 10:1, Type S/ATR around 11:1. Actual numbers are around somewhere...
Keep your eye out on UK/JDM models. I know the JDM 4th gens had around 15 bhp more than the UKDM cars, not sure if it's the same with 5Gens.
