rear manifold mounting bracket

Post by A1ex » Tue Jul 24, 2012 5:04 pm

Just remembered, after speaking with the guy at the garage yesterday that the mounting bracket to connect the manifold downpipe to the block doesn't fit (4g exhaust in a 5g) so I need to get an adaptor plate made up.

Anyone done this before? or know where I can get one?

Cheers

Oh, after some quick googling on the topic stubled across this thing;

Just how necessary is that bracket? I think the one on my Exedy mani is broken/missing and it doesn't 'seem' to have made a difference...

It helps to carry the weight of your manifold so it's not being carried on the branches connected to the block.

:lol: good point. Don't have any thin metal around the place. Lot's of carbon fibre and perspex but doubt that'll be up to the job somehow :?
