1999 5th Gen 2.2 VTI Manual with U2Q7 LSD

Post by mdb_75 » Sun Jul 22, 2012 2:26 pm

My lovely Prelude is up for sale!

It's a 1999 V registration manual gearbox 2.2 Vti and it's in really great condition. Everything works as it should including the four wheel steer.

It is the 200ps/197bhp H22A8 red top engine version.

It's all standard except that it has been fitted with a U2Q7 gearbox out of an Accord Type R which gives it a limited slip differential and also the cruise control has been removed.

The car has done 102,000 miles and it drives perfectly, no knocks, crunches of shakes!

There's a folder full of receipts and it has good service history.

In February of this year when on 100,000 miles it had a full service which included:

Oil + filter change (5w/40 fully synthetic), spark plugs, air filter, valve clearances adjusted and a cambelt change which included the balance belt, water pump, idler and tensioner pulleys too. At the same time a new alloy radiator was also fitted along with a coolant change.

The bodywork is really good with hardly any marks at all. You can see in one of the rear photos that one corner of the rear window rubber trim is not sitting around the glass correctly, but this doesn't cause any leak, it's part of the trim not the seal. Also there is a tiny bit of rust about the size of a fingernail where the sill meets one rear wheel arch, but it's hardly noticeable and isn't rotten.

The car is taxed until September and the MOT is until January 2013. The last MOT was passed without any advisories at 99,000 miles.

All four 17inch alloys are excellent with no kerbing that I have seen and no corrosion either.

All four tyres are Goodyears and have around 5mm of tread on them and are evenly worn.

The interior's really clean and it has heated seats.

The Aircon works.

The car is in Ludlow, South Shropshire Postcode SY8

Price is £1550

Thanks for looking! :)

Beautiful car.

I have just bought a 5g, same model in blue with 75k on the clock.

Good luck as a great price.

May I ask if the gearbox was a complex job or straight swop?

Paul

Paul the gearbox was pretty much a straight swap. Just the Slave cylinder bracket on the U2Q7 had to be taken off from what I remember.
