Christ - that is very worrying indeed and theres me thinking ive covered all the basics before doing a track day. Might suspend the track day untill i have checked the pulley out firstI haven't pulled mine off the car yet but as I understand it the pulley is made in two halves with a vibration damping rubber part joining the two. This supposedly reduces torsional vibration induced in the crank when the engine is running. The rubber perishes over time and then the pulley outer breaks away from the pulley inner causing it to all fall apart very rapidly.
Is there anyway of checking if the crank pulley is nearing its end?

Ahh i see. Panic over. PAW did my H23 manual timing belt conversion so i assume the crank pulley would of had to come off and be reinstalled once complete. Im sure they would have flagged anything up to me if any part required changingCrank pullys don't fail. It's all in the installation. Too tight a belt or too loose.

You sure about this mate, this is not what I understood.....I know for sure that my pulley was not loose or over tight.RattyMcClelland wrote:Crank pullys don't fail. It's all in the installation. Too tight a belt or too loose.
