Front indicator relocation / possibly new bumper

Post by A1ex » Tue Aug 07, 2012 7:58 pm

I'm thinking of moving the front indicators so I can get something like the below for my CAI arrangement so I can get a better air flow;

Has anyone done anything like this? Also, any suggestions on where to put them would be appreciated :)

I do quite like the location on these;

but not too keen on the rest of the bumper & if I was don't have that sort of cash spare. Does anyone have an OEM bumper giong cheap or free :) that I could experiment with?

mills might have one on the S he's breaking?

And didn't funkmasterjay relocate his indicators to the OEM headlights? Maybe that's an option somehow.

In the headlight sounds cool, gets them right out of the way. Is there any regulation on location / brightness / colour of bulbs for the indicators?

Ask LLL, he had a WW bumper before so he had aftermarket indicators. So you can use them aftermarket lights and then use the existing hole for the cold air intake. :!: :oops:

My indicators are in the sidelight area of the headlight unit. However mine are LEDs soldered to a board and fitted in place.

My sidelights have then been relocated to the indicator units in the bumper, so this doesn't really help you!

In theory you should be able to just fit a yellow bulb in place and then swap the wires around, but this will leave you without sidelights.

Why not leave the aux lamp clusters alone & use the faux intake below as a real intake? Cannot see it making a huge difference on a Prelude.

Beware of swaps - IIRC, sidelights are 5W and Indicators 21W - or is that just rear lights?

This is correct, however most single filament bulbs use the same base, so you can swap the bulbs no problem
