Balls that means i'm gonna have to pay £25 for a V5 just to scrap my old car

Nope, put the car into a relatives/ friends/ partners name. It means they will have to go to the scrap yard with you, bit saves you paying £25 as they'll get a new logbook for free

Cars already been scrapped, they took the only bit of a V5 I could find for it. But i've had a sorn reminder for it so the scrap yard can't have registered it as scrap

I have got away with it by just writing a letter with the details on it informing them you have scrapped it, if they dont like that just say the document was in the car, what can they do then? make you pay for somthing you do not own? I think not.

Anyone a tad confused about the bit on the front where it says:

"THIS DOCUMENT IS NOT PROOF OF OWNERSHIP. It shows who is responsible for registering and taxing the vehicle."

Umm? So who owns it then.

I had a red one through for my old lude about 3 days before I sold it.

That's some good scrap knowledge! The garage I had my exhaust changed at tried to hold onto the cat after then put a decat on it, made they cut it off the exhaust section and give it back to me tho
