^^^ Good stuff mate. That was pretty much the only Lude I worked on when I was there so will no doubt help me in coming weeks when I pull this one apart!!

Cheers for all the comments guys. I'm pretty much flying the flag at half mast until Voaden unleashes the real deal but will do what I can to show that the Lude can hold its own on the race track 8-)

Iain.........Yeah when I said I was buying it from you to restore to OEM standards I may have been bending the truth slightly

Cheers mate. Been down that route before and it got me in alot of debt, but I did win a £3 trophy though :D

I could easily buy a host of new parts and be done with it, but I want to do everything as cheap as possible to show there are other ways of building a competetive race car without throwing money at it.

8-)

Thats the thing with Honda's. The more you learn the more you spend as you always want it to be the best it can be., and theres nowt wrong with that if you can afford it.
For me, its about seeing what I can do on a budget and using some innitiative.
I'm under no illusion that it wont be a front running car, but if I can hassle the lads in Production class then i'll be happy man, plus we still dont have a Lude in the series so as the race organiser its my duty to introduce one.......thats what I told the Wife anyway  :D

Congrats on choosing a Lude! I'll be keeping a close eye on what you're up to as I am also building a Lude for competition 8-)

Nope, just needs to be MSA compliant (i.e minimum 6 point bolt in) but I will be having a custom 6 point weld-in as although I would like to go mad, I need to keep the weight down so it will be a mix of CDS and T45.
My mate (Matt @ MEC) will be building the cage from scratch and he has built many of the Vtec Challenges cages over the past few months (they are all built individualy and the tightest fit you will get for a cage) Although he's actually an industrial engineer by trade, he does also have a K20 EK9 Race car so he likes his Honda's and loves motorsport 8-)
