First of all Cudos to the guys who got up and built a new private forum
Just gone through the login system and it's a bit clunky, I've taken screen shots of the errors encountered on the way so you can located the problem pages a bit easier, one has a useful error message too
So I went to the reg screen and entered my details, the first error was the below screen
I then refreshed the browser and the redirect sent me back to the registration screen with the following error message
I then tried to login on the login screen and had this message
So I tried the password reset screen
which then sent an activation link to my registration email address
I then clicked the link and got directed to the home screen tried to log in and hey presto I'm in
Looks like the bones of the set up are there but needs some tinkering. Personally, I think the reg link should send you to the login page with a message saying your account is now active or to the home screen with the same message.
As I said over on PUK, the business I'm in the process of selling is completely run around php and mysql (like this site) and I've also set up several registration systems using a similar format to this site.
