Validating chassis numbers on V5 (imports)

Post by nickyboy » Wed Aug 22, 2012 2:32 pm

Surely the chassis number on the VIN plate is in Japanese? So how can I compare it to the V5?

Copied from a recent thread. The numbers have been photoshopped out, but they are there.

There is no real info on the plate but the sequential number of the chassis and engine, it's not like normal standardised VIN numbers and unfortunately it gives no further info, it has been confirmed that the jap writing simply says Honda Motor Corp.

The BB1 number on the plate and bulkhead (7 numerical digits) should match the V5.

It does just say Honda Motor Corp.

Confirmed by visiting Honda.co.jp
