But at least you know it's all sorted know, with decent upgrades along the way 8-)

My first year of Lude ownership was rough too... Had to get a new battery... and I got a puncture today

 I wish it was that easy!

My first lude the replacement autobox gave up the ghost after 6 months. Lost a grand on that car

Second lude did 50k and cost £50 in maintainance on a slave cylinder (this one was the legend of the trio)

And now this one...

Was it a new tyre that got punctured too?

Nah it was one that was on there when I bought the car

Passed MOT with no advisories, continuing the trend of every previous MOT since new 8-)

But this isn't a pissing contest  as much as things going wrong may annoy or cost you, at the end of it all you have a fine Lude :)

 pissing contest, I know it's not. Clean every MOT, that's some good maintainance!

I just need to pin down the last gremlin (sqeaky wheel isn't sorted yet) then I'll be a happy man :)

Post by A1ex » Sat Sep 29, 2012 8:23 pm

Small update; finally got the type s strut brace fitted, only 15 months after buying it

Also got a couple pics of the shocks which tramroadmotors installed for me last month :D

Next on the list is sorting out the heat wrap, it's a complete mess. Also, there are a couple marks on the arches where the wheels rubbed slightly before I put the spacers on (about 2 miles)

nice work Alex 8-)
guess your sticking with the lude for many more years to come - im telling you these cars grow on you even after a decade - i cant really see any other car out there that quite fits the bill as good as a lude does ;)

Cheers :)

That's how I landed on my 3rd lude (this one). Was looking & looking but couldn't find anything with the same performance for the money. Even if you just look at bhp / £ spend it's a tough act to top, before you get into looks, handling, reliability...

The last 3 months it's been taking money that I did have to spend, which was why I didn't like it  but It's winning me around again slowly.

Oil catch can

Post by A1ex » Sun Oct 07, 2012 5:41 pm

Got my oil catch can installed which I picked up from Mr Dino a few weeks ago.

I've had to use cable ties temporarily until I can get some hose clips from Halfords. I just hope this non-OEM modification doesn't make my professionally rebuilt engine fall out when I going down the motorway resulting in my car ending up 'on the heap' :scaredtoss:

And a cheeky shot of the tops of my non-OEM shocks which will no doubt mean my car will spontaneously lose control going over a speed bump resulting in a fatal crash due to my non-OEM dials.
