5th Gen for sale - Now sold
I have decided to sell my 1997 5th Gen. It is a 2.2vti Auto, and has 4ws.
I've had this car for about 18 months.
The car is in reasonble condition for one that's 15years old, and done 135k miles though isnt pristine like some example seen on this forum. The bodywork has a couple of minor scratches and dinks though certainly isnt bad, and is free from rust (as far as I am aware).
It is currently taxed and tested until the end of April 2013.
It is fairly standard apart from having a cold air intake fitted. In addition I have fitted an after market remote key fob locking kit and also white 'plasma glow' dials similar to these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-Prelude ... 33571ea38d
The bad bit - and my reason for selling.
I have an intermittent starting problem that I have been, so far, unable to cure. As this is my only car, and is used every day for me to get to work, I need something that I am confident is going to start without problems. For further details about the starting problems see this link.

I am open to reasanble offers, but feel that £500 would be a good price despite the starting problems.
Once started it runs well and has never so much as mis-fired. Vtec works as it should, and engine sounds quiet. Auto box changes well and has never been problematic. First couple of changes when cold arent as smooth as when warm but certainly not bad enough to be of concern.
The car for sale is the one shown on my signature. I can take other more specific photos if requested.

Well I thought this had sold. Planned the ebay auction to finish on Friday night to give the buyer a weekend to collect without having to wait. Turns out the winning bidder was just a timewaster. No contact until late on Saturday night, and then we arrange for him to come over Monday evening. My first text yesterday asking for an approximate time got ignored, but my second got a reply to say that his 'circumstances had changed dramatically and he was stuck in great harwood'. Couldnt collect so I could offer to the second bidder.
As frustrating as the whole time wasting issue has been. What really p***es me off is that not once did he make the first contact or apologise. I had to chase after the auction & then I had to chase the muppet when he didnt turn up to collect. Why cant people just grow a pair and be honest. I would have been a lot less annoyed if he rang to say sorry I bid, but I cant complete. Or sorry to mess you about but I'm not going to be able to get over to collect.
Rant over. I have made a 'second chance offer' but not heard anything yet so its likely to be relisted. If anyone else is interested then please let me know.

I had the same with car selling for a friend
had no feedback and made no contact
alot of this business going on, I personally think bidders under 10 feedback or something should be banned from buying cars
GLWTS the starting issue could be your IACV or something.

Thanks Lude-Dude. I hadnt considered the IACV. I may give this a clean when I get chance.
Though I have bought another Prelude, so just want rid of this one, even if a bit below it's potential value due to the starting problems. Even if I managed to fix it I couldnt sell it without mentioning the starting as I'm now not driving it (or insured to) I woudnt have the opportunity to prove to myself that it was sorted.

Well this lude sold on ebay for a bargain price of £295. I based my auction on a spares or repair basis as I couldnt say I had fixed the staring problem. However, once the car was listed on ebay it started first turn of the key everytime! As it was an intermittent preblem, and the car wasnt diven once replaced, I dont know but think the new owner might have got themself a bargain.
