For insurance, see if you can bring down the mileage on one of the cars. I claim I do 3000 miles on mine, even though it's registered for social domestic pleasure travel to and from business AND use in connection with my business. As it's TPFT, it's very unlikely there would ever be a problem and it brought the premium down a fair bit.
As for 4WS well mine broke the other day and the car felt like crap just pootling around town. I could never live with 2WS on that car, the turning circle is shocking for one and the drive just feels so less involved to me.
O and as for mileage, have a read of some hypermilling forums etc. I find the main thing to remember when you're trying to save fuel is that the petrol pedal is exactly that. The harder you push it, the more it costs. Drive in any way you can to keep from pressing it any more than absolutely necessary. 300-350 miles around town is do-able.
