Keeping it :-)

Post by majemoss » Sun Sep 09, 2012 9:48 pm

Well after advertising my 5th Gen and seeing how little these cars are going for I've decided to keep it.
Over the last 6 months its kept me busy as the modding bug bit me. It has cost a small fortune to get it to a standard where I am happy with it.
I changed the cambelt, balance belt, and waterpump, fitted a new starter motor, removed the old wings west front bumper and fitted a standard one with a P1 lip plus the cost to be sprayed.
I then upgraded the front caliper and discs with ATR one's, and refurbed them.
Fitted original JDM front fog lights.
I then put 12 months test on and 6 months tax, and at this point decided it'd be a good time to try and sell it for a decent price.
So after a 5 day auction on that site it achieved a measly £970, surely its worth more :?: , luckily it had a reserve but if that's all it worth I'd rather keep it and enjoy the power and sound of the 2.2 Vtec.
I'm not overly thrilled about selling as driving it puts a smile on my face, but as I'm turning 30 this year and with 2 growing kids I thought it best to get something a little more sensible..... well if £970 is all you can offer i'm sticking the middle finger up to 'Sensible' :D (cheesy)
Just thought i'd share that with you
Thanks

I'd rather be bummed than take £970 for a Prelude. Glad you decided to keep it

The sad thing is someone would've probably bought it and broke it to make a bit of profit, That'd be one less Prelude on the road. The thing is I never actually decided I wanted to buy a lude, I bought it to do my father-in-law a favour who just had it parked up wasting away and could never bring himself to sell it. I only bought it as it had the LPG.
I didn't have a clue what I was buying really, it was a nice surprise to educate myself and grow an interest in Preludes to then find out I have an SiR :D
