Thought I had bought Track rod ends.

Post by Fluffsta » Tue Sep 18, 2012 11:15 am

Thought I had bought Track rod ends but these even though advertised on Ebay as Prelude Type S track rod ends don't look like track rod ends!

The product number is coming up as front stabilizer links! What the hell are front stabilzer links!

Guessing as they are genuine honda parts wouldn't harm to replace them but I am still trying to source the Track Rod Ends I have been looking for now for so long. Can anybody give me some info to what I have bought?

Many thanks!

They are anti-rollbar (stabilizer bar) drop links. Were they advertised as stabilizer end links?

Did you see that post I did the other week on Type-S track rod ends?

Anybody have the part number for track rod ends for a Type S? I used to have the part number but lost it. Looked everywhere for genuine track rod ends.

Going to dealdirectparts.com and selecting the Type-SH (ATTS like the Type-S) returns these:

1999 HONDA PRELUDE SH Left Outer Steering Tie Rod End (This factory part has a part number of 53560S30N21)- http://www.dealerdirectparts.com/1999-H ... e-sh-2.htm
1999 HONDA PRELUDE SH Right Outer Steering Tie Rod End (This factory part has a part number of 53540S30N21)- http://www.dealerdirectparts.com/1999-H ... e-sh-2.htm

OR you can buy direct from Lings. Lings list the Aussie VTI-R (has ATTS)

14 - END COMP., R. TIE ROD £83.82 53540-S30-N21
16 - END COMP., L. TIE ROD £83.82 53560-S30-N21

So you could either order from the US @ $51 (£31) a pop and wait for delivery or direct from Honda at £84 each and get them in possibly a few days.

Many thanks Merlin I did see that post and forgot to give credit.

They were advertised as '96 - 01 Honda Prelude TYPE S Front Right/left Track Rod End Tie Rod Brand New'. I don't know much but I thought at the time they didn't look alike track rod ends :)

Guess they were miss advertised? Worth keeping?

They are £52 each from Honda. I would keep them as they are a Type-S specific part.

Great news! Just got off the phone from Honda Coventry and gave him those part numbers Merlin listed and they can get them in from Belgium for £74 each side, will take 2 days for delivery :)

4thgenphil - I will get my stabilizer end links checked out and if they are ok I will resell but I paid £30 each side for them though, not too sure what they are worth new

Merlin - I broke a mirror this morning then 10 mins later what I thought were track rod ends arrived in a box no bigget than a galaxy s3 box! Thought to myself the bad luck has started!

Glad to see I got a bit of a bargain on these in the end! I will probably hang on to these like the mulitude of Type S parts I seem to hoard and yet are no good to me :)
