96 2.0 Prelude (Tango machine)

Hi all,

Unfortunately I'm having to sell the Tango Machine.... it's time to change my hair colour....
No seriously, I don't really want to sell it, but it's belt-tightening time again, so we're back down to 1 car.

I'd rather it went to someone who is going to continue to look after it, so I'm posting here first.

For those of you who know the car as Gav's old Lude, you'll know it's history. For those who don't then here goes...

1996 2.0 Prelude. Repainted by Gav (previous owner) in orange and black. The bodywork is still in fantastic condition apart from the slight bubbling returning on the rear arches. Full stainless exhaust, inc manifold and de-cat pipe.

Work done since owning it....

Repaired the non-working sunroof
Refitted the sunroof drain pipes
Changed plugs, distributor & rotor arm
Tested leads - fine
New Lambda sensor
No codes on engine (checked due to Lambda sensor failure)
Replaced gasket between manifold and inlet pipe (to solve major leak)
Fitted eyebrows/nostrils
New smoked indicators, side indicators & reflectors
Replaced high level brake light bulbs

Taxed till beginning of December
MOT till June 2013


Things that need doing still....

Oil change (have the oil filter, not had time to do it yet)
Has a Clifford alarm fitted, but haven't got round to working out why it doesn't work.

Good luck with the sale Alison. I recommend using gumtree.com, the majority of interest in mine was from there. And it's free.

Hope you get the £450 reserve, it looks in good shape

It stands me at a lot more, but no-ones paying anything for cars lately... fingers crossed.

If the central locking works then as far as you know the alarm works

If I was local i'd pop round and change the oil for you, quite easy to get to compared to other cars i've had. Surely there's a local gentleman (or woman) that can pop round and lend a hand? I'm sure you'll get a nice brew

Yeah, just never got round to changing the oil. My other (better) half may do it if he gets time though. As long as he's supplied with coffee and cigs lol.

Seen the ebay ad, looks good in the pics. The "no reserve" is misleading though, the bidding starts at £450

Thanks, it took me ages to write, then bl**dy ebay page wiped all the info, so I had to write it all again!

I hate those silly ads that start at 99p and have a reserve set at "x" amount, what's the point? You get double charged. Once for listing and again for setting a reserve.

May as well start at a "real" price.

No point having 23 bids for example and not even having hit the reserve price!

I'm not going to give it away. lol

I agree with your logic about reserve / start price. I sold my old lude on ebay and set the start price as the minimum I would let it go for, also.

I appreciate you don't want to sell it for pennies, but "no reserve" means that, it starts at 1p and sells for whatever. In this ad, you have set the reserve at the starting price of £450

What I do is list cars as a classified ad, which means no bidding, no buy it now, no final value fees. Just an advert like you have done, with a fixed price, and interested parties contact you and buy outside of eBay.
