2 Buggers sets of wheels!

Post by Bio » Mon Sep 24, 2012 6:32 pm

So about a week back I hit a pothole and flattened one of the wheels on my 5th and ruined the tyre;

I went to pickup some ATR alloys from ebay last night. 300 Mile round trip. I checked everything over best I could but went to fit today and found:

Now I have no idea what I'm going to do.
I've contacted the ebay seller and told him that the wheels aren't fit for purpose and are not as described (described as good condition with some kerbing etc).
I don't much fancy getting them welded either as it'll be expensive and possibly dangerous.

I'm wondering how my day could possibly get much worse?!

Find out if it were reported on Fix my Street & sue the arse of the c unty c untcil. They won't cough 'til you threaten Small Claims, so keep twisting their nuts.

I did and they coughed for a brand new Motegi. I had the old one repaired, but the zombie public serpents deserved to suffer.

They fixed the drain cover the following day, instead of decades later, strangely enough...

^ Not a bad idea... a road I use everyday is full of potholes and is just jobby in general, been tempted a few times to see what I can get . I blame it on the pissing UEA bus that stops every 50m because students are lazy and will only walk to the end of their road.

Oh yeah, they already sent me a claim form for their roads messing up my wheels.
Its just upsetting that the replacement set I bought is also buggered :(

I'll be getting some quotes to repair the existing 16's and see how much it might cost, if at all, to weld the cracked 17 that I ended up buying.

Going price for a repair is about 50-60 notes!
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

It's not hard to find one spare wheel. There are lots on the forum/eBay. 8-)

BJV Engineering in Bovingdon can fix that kind of stuff, alloy welding guys and quality work, you can do it by post and read up at potholes.co.uk as there is a wealth of information there. It's best to get a freedom of info request in before claiming generally but you could get your mrs to do it or a friend and it WILL help you prove the pothole has been reported lots/keeps coming back etc which then will help with getting costs back etc. Good luck dude and read that potholes website, is good to know for all of us and also incentive to keep reporting them as it all gets logged ;)

+1 for BJV.

Always quality work.
