This won't be popular but - fill the petrol tank with fuel ££££ (condensation in fuel pump etc). Also, remove the battery - not just disconnect.
Use the cork from a bottle to prop up each wiper arm in the middle so that the rubber blade does not contact the screen. Leave 10cms gap on the windows, leave the boot on the latch - not shut. (saves rubber seals)

@dino: it would go against evolution to devolve into a simpler, less sophisticated version of itself but you never know
@littlefeller: thats not a bad bloody idea mate. car sized plastic bags.......ebay challenge.
@pushki: cheers, i shall have a good look at that.
It's likely if im smart i will leave it there for a few years. If im dumb i will start another project in the mean time. either way the lude will be on blocks for a while.
cheers for all you ideas both insane and wisdomful. When she is all tucked up will get a pic online

after investing so much money in your car surely another £150 to tax it and a bit of fuel for the odd run once a week is a drop in the ocean. better to use them than leave them standing for far to many reasons to mention. i assume its still insured just incase our (politically correct my arse) pikey friend does nick it from its damp and dingey hiding place.
and the big car bag is called a carcoon which almost makes dinos post a possibility.

I remember a mouse chewing through a petrol pipe on my ZX7R

thats nothing i had a honda 550 four stored in a chicken shed once (ok not the best place to keep one i know) and they eat the foot pegs hand grips seat and most of the plastic off the wiring. mice will have a field day with wiring and interior trim and god help it if a cat has a litter in your fan housing when you go to start it at the end of your storage time
