4th gen horn button

bleeding hell, stupid mot guy has broken one of my horn buttons, im assuming it was him as i have never had the need to use my horn. driving along this morning and it just fell out

does anyone know if they can be replaced without taking the wheel apart, it looks as though it is possible, cant say i have ever seen just the buttons on flebay though

mine has broken the retaining bit off the back as is beyond repair, well beyond useable repair that is.

take it this is non airbag model

find a breaker?

oh yeh sorry forgot that part, yes it is non airbag

its the bottom left button, there apears to be some small tags which i think just clip (spring out) under the wheel, all i have now is bare metal and a spring

i was thinking of just blanking it off as i do have another 3, but would this be an mot failier?

tampered with horn or something

i supose as long as i can still sound my horn it should be ok

i did think maybe i could use the hole for a different switch for something else, duno what mind, then a funny thought struck me, it went something like this - me driving along minding my own, then tit in front desides to pull out on me, me goes for the horn - - - aghhhh crash--------- sory officer, i went for my horn but hit the nos instead

i replaced one on mine about 8 or 9 years ago
i was able to buy a single horn button from Honda for about £8 - they may have gone up a bit since then.
Its a push fit - so no need to take the steering wheel off - 30 second job max

yep it did look like a push fit, i was thinking i could just cover the old button with leather, remove the gubins inside and stick it perm in place

or just spend £8 for a new one

£8 for a piece of placy

although i will point out that i do sometimes help people for free in a vain attempt to readress the tightness, its real hard work being tight

Lol it won't be an mot fail. My horn button is where my ciggy lighter used to live and it passed with no advisories yesterday
