Is anyone else a prepper here?

Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

it was an astrinomical calender, i point to note here for all you end of the world types is this date is also the same date as that nuclear experiment in europe reaches its climax, this is the one that some think will start another big bang. though its now been moved on a few weeks, suprised no one took advantage of the date clash sooner

hey page 8 already, this must be a subject that most of us think but dont talk about, again highlighting the folly of prepping (everone else is planning too)

i have a boat, a sea going boat. yep fuel is a bugger but its diesel and could run on almost anything  loads of places to hide at sea (ok i admit it ,i now have that scene from the simpsons in my head, LIFE UNDER THE SEA) daa daah dah doo dah, opps sorry, back to reality. to survive you need to be mobile, you cant be mobile if you have a stockpile, with every passing day in this post apocaliptic world you will get weaker while the hordes waiting will bet stronger and more deturmined :scaredtoss: yep defo a scaredtoss moment. personaly i think it will be a slow decent into chaos rather than a sudden omg moment, although a virus is the most likely(which could be real fast and unexpected), next to ecenomic collapse. but all is not lost for humanity, it is only the western world that this would happen, as we are greedy and too reliant on the current systems, for the bigger majority of the words people ,survival is an everday ordeal, and there doing it quite well.

as with most era's in time knowledge will be king so knowing how to do and being able to do it whatever that is from medicinal plants to hunting and cooking or repairing metals/metalwork once the lights go out is going to be important.
Unless your part of a strong community which wont happen straight away unless your asian or in the military/private security company you wont have much choice but keep moving, which means travelling light so your best possesion will be your head and whats in it followed by precious metal/stones.
I am not scary just a lot of time in the various military units gives you an outlook and knowledge that seem like they have no use in a normal civilised world this ipod generation will be lost i am afraid.
Theiving from others will only draw attention from larger groups who will have to take action to keep their own people in line.

I'm going to my relatives in the hills in Italy. They still produce all their food locally & boy is it
good - mustn't forget the wine too :D .
Also they have wild boar that they hunt.
The old timers remember bartering for goods & know how to survive in hard times.
The men had to got into hiding during the German occupation in WW2.
