its already happening on this very thread too, we have already divided into 2 cams, one camp glass half empty and the other half is glass half full. if i were in the glass half empty camp i would keep an eye on your half glass, i may just steal it

where is the scaremongering?

the only scaremongers i see are the media and politicians. the rest of us listen to their poison and have to make our own minds up.

we have a situation in europe right now where the police are firing teargas and rubber bullets at teachers, shop keepers and nurses. this is not because of any MASSIVE disaster but because they are a bit annoyed their pension's are being cut. The chief of police WAS IN THE PROTESTORS!!!

what would happen if they had no food for two days? or the unemployment figure doubles over a quarter due to industrial closures. rubber bullets become real bullets and protests become riots. If the police are hungry as well what happens then?

people seem to think our 'civilisation' is seperated from barbarism by a wall as thick as the earth but I tell you it is more like a sheet of glass. you just need to look to africa for a pointer. life is cheap when you have limited resource and many mouths.

The biggest classic problem is we see the past and the mistakes all other major civilisations on the planet have made and we know why they collapsed and had vast amounts of their population die yet we are sure in our belief that that COULDN'T HAPPEN TO US. well it could and in the space of a few weeks or even days, depending on the catalyst.

Again i repeat that prepping is not just for the end of the world. its for tomorrow when the water supply has been inturupted by a failure or when the wheat harvest fails because of too much rain. when a bag of wheat goes from £7 to £70 you will have people out in the streets fighting over bread.

when cheltenham suffered 3 weeks water outtages in 2008 after the floods there were fights in sainsburys and waitrose for packs of bottled water. they were giving it away in tesco's carpark by the lorry load.

see what I mean?

i like being the fringe minority. we always seem to become to mainstream majority within a generation regardless.

polarisation of morals takes about 15 seconds if you want what another has enough....

i will bring an empty fuel can. we can play the game of who can get the most into it from someone else before getting shot. getting shot is a foul and you forfit half a litre.

i am only furthering the opinions of society pundits. they maybe scaremongering but the guys on the titanic that said it might be a good idead to slow down a bit due to icebergs were accused of the same!!

hindsight is great as long as someone hasn't gouged your eyes out as a trophy

I wont need fuel. I have horses. we will be able to bug in (i live in a defensable rural location) or if it gets too hot? bug out (run to the hills/mountains behind my house) on the horses. bottles of spirits are one of the best things to store. can be used for so many things and you can cycle them through the drinks cabinet.
