Hi,

There's news that McLaren might be joining forces with Honda to supply v6 turbo engines from 2014 on the net. Its only rumour at the moment...

be good to seem them back, but I doubt this is true

Would be great to see the partnership rekindled

Hondas V6 Turbos were the best units in F1 from the tail end of 1985 until the end of 88 when the turbos were banned...

Didn't realise they were bringing turbos back. Did you hear the new civic type r is going to be turbo?

Yes. Its probably going to be a 1.6 turbo using technology learned from the new civic entered into WTCC this week. Honda's brief with it is to make it the fastest FWD car around the NBRG.

I assume its a small 1.6 for fuel economy and emissions. However, the BTCC cars do sound rather throaty at idle, and have a nice pop through the gears with their turbo engines. Sounds a bit like my bro-in-law's new CBR600RR bike at idle.
