oh yes almost forgot the m2f5 boxes fd should be 4.062 and not the 4.266 as stated in the chart i posted on puk 8-)

try 8000 rpm with the auto box  181mph

intrestingly according to this the auto should be able to run the delimiter without loosing vtec in first gear, @5250 - vtec crossover the converted speed would read just over 18mph which i belive would be sufficiant for vtec activation :D can anyone confirm this :D

I have some parts on gearboxes in my build thread if it helps people. There's some explanations on UK / JDM differences, links to two online calculators, oil seal Honda part numbers, etc. Might be helpful. :geek:

An online excel spreadsheet hosted on the site would be cool though, PHP skills to pay the bills! 8)

:D love it!

Seriously though, if I write the code is it going to get put up on the site? Don't want to waist time on something which isn't going to get used :(

My choice is U2Q7 gearbox. Already got it. Will be rebuilding it in 1-2 months. I was studying honda gearboxes, calculating with those gearbox ratio calculators and etc. Wanted to do it cheap :) But because I want to build gearbox once and want it to be reliable, this will be definitely not cheap... And I hope that gears wont' be grinded.. :) So decided to put:

* new synchros, bearings and OEM seals. Most probably from here: http://shop.synchrotech-transmissions.c ... es_c19.htm. I compared prices from Honda dealers and from here and found out, that the amount would be almost the same (not including synchros), so better to take that carbon kit with everything.

* 0.757 ratio 5th gear form these gearbox'es:
Prelude H23A2, gearbox code - M2K4
Accord F22B5, gearbox code - P2C4
Maybe it would be easier to get 0.787 ratio 5th gear from 2.0 Prelude box. I was thinking and calculating witch to choose, but I would like longer 5th gear and if I'll take that FD mentioned below, then 0.757 definitely. There is 0.685 ratio also, but..:)

* and would love to put 4,64 FD. But it's really pricey, so still thinking. This would be really good :)

So thats my dream gearbox :) Four very short gears and 5th long.
If anybody has any comments, you are very welcome. And maybe this will help for other to decide.

P.S. Oh, here's already 3 pages of this thread. I did not noticed again :D

Froidas - very interesting build, some money going into that. What plans do you have for the engine to go to that extent on the gearbox?

Littlefeller: I have hosting if you need me to upload it and add a link. :D
Email to: rob@cyanspark.co.uk

I'm sure Kawa will be able to host it on his space too along with this site.

A1ex: Same goes for you, I'm sure Kawa will be acommodating to add your PHP calculator. Out of interest what do you do for a living? Your site you mention sounds intriguing to me as by day I am a Quantity Surveyor and spare time a web designer, so can appreciate a little PHP coding. :D
