Door Handle Return Spring Problem

Post by toadster » Sat Nov 17, 2012 12:26 pm

LO All :D

The other day as my brother opened the passenger door on my Lude something broke or fell off the inside of the door handle :(

It now sticks out about 10mm , so i'm guessing the spring has either broken or come loose somehow :?:

Anyone else had this happen :?:

Door handle still works OK just looks pants

Cheers ;)

There is a hairspring on one (or either!) end of the pivot - they need lubing occasionally.

You'll need to lose the door case & membrane & see if it's come adrift, or broken or something.

my doner lude got this problem I had a look and the srping has slipped off, you can get to it from inside if you take the door card off etc its very tricky though I gave up after 5mins but then i wasent that fussed about it as its fitted to the donor car, good luck 8)

LO All :D

Got my door handle sorted out today , plate behind the handle had broken due to age and wear , the mechanic managed to fix it will a drilled hole and bolt 8-) that now holds the spring.
Only charged me 45 mins labour 8-)

Sorted 8-)
