Had a 37" (I think) Panny Plasma for a few years now. Poirfect.

Panny (like Sony) are in s hit street due to the strength of the Yen (bad for prices) and because of LG & Sammy competition (good for prices?) so you might find a few retailers in tears in the sales & beat them up a bit.

Thanks for all the above guys.

Budget for some decent speakers though, even if only 2.1, as flat screens mean thin lifeless speakers.
Forgot to mention, I already have a BluRay home cinema with 5.1 surround, so this isn't a concern for me or my budget :) This is an LG system though, an I believe it links the remote from an LG TV, so this my be top of my list in terms of brand.

I had the Samsung 42 which Aaron now has and now got the Samsung 50 inch (using as my monitor with my galaxy note 10.1 streaming to it) they have both been faultless and I would recommend anytime.
I back up the comments about richer sounds aswell they know there stuff and my father in law will only buy from them, their service is second to none :D
LG are good as all screens in all tv's are made by LG anyway.

You'll probably find the HDMi link works best with other Sammy stuff and is clunky with others. Most seem to be like that (ours is perfect with the Panny BluRay but the aspect ratio from the Humax is all shot to f uck and you have to reset manually). That might mean a Sammy TV for you, then.

Samung smart tv for the win. Best smart tv imo. I picked up a 40 inch for the bedroom for around 450. So a 32 inch will be in your price range.

Way I see it, I spend a lot of time enjoying Films and TV so why not have it on a big screen.

Next time I'll go for a 42" but LED with built in freeview etc, my TV is a fair few years old now but it weighs a tonne, wouldn't like to wall mount it
And it's just gone wrong :( Might have cursed it

Now to look for a replacement and start saving
