I unearthed the cable thts meant 2go to the handbrake to head unit now DVD works all the time

Must depend on the system then i guess. Newer hu's apparently don't work this way and connecting it to an earth or live doesn't work.

It has to receive a secondary earth or live signal to bypass the handbrake feature, so you need to use a relay to achieve this. Plently of vids on YouTube on how to do this.

if the HU i had didnt have both front and rear video outs i would be doing just that.
