Hey all.

I might as well start a thread here. Could possibly count as the car's history as I have owned it.

Bought it towards the end of Jan 2012 with a 4ws issue and slight rust on the arches. The poor guy was desperate to sell, and it was mine. I took a punt on the 4ws but I knew it was just in need of a reset.

When I bought it

The following week, I removed the old Nokia car phone kit and cradle, and installed my own Pioneer HU.

Since I do car audio installs, I have a box full of wires and looms so I found an ISO block off an old Parrot hands free kit, armed with my multi meter and a 1.5v battery to buzz out the speaker wires.

Halfway there

The eagle eyed amongst you will notice I used the car's original power supply. This is temporary (hence crimped terminals instead of soldering). When I install my amplifier and components, I will use a common ground, and a relayed switched live, as well as a relayed remote lead.

I did this install in half hour before I lost sunlight.

Engine bay needs a GOOD tidy up.

Serviced her a couple of weeks after I got her. That's mum's MB6 VTiS.

Fixed 4ws

Bought a Pipercross panel filter

Initially, I wanted to save the exhaust for a while as I will be turbo charging the Prelude, BUT I was at the yard, and Mad Mike had 3 x HKS tailpipes that he wanted to get rid of from another crazy turbo car. At £40 a pop, I took one and my Honda sister Lois bought 2 (1 for her MB6 and the other for her boyfriend's EG6 turbo).
Image

I will have that installed in the next week or so - just the back box to make the car look and sound good for now. Power is not important.

Today, I installed the Pipercross filter after work. The car is still hella filthy, but I have some time off this Feb and as I am going to Fast Show and will be on the EBZ stand, I will be doing some tinkering.

Plans over the next few weeks.

1. Clean engine bay
2. Paint cam cover
3. Paint wheels black
4. Sell number plate and replace with my own private plate
5. Relocate sidelights from main headlight unit to indicator.
6. Good clean, polish and wax.
7. Remove the resonator.
8. Replace plugs.

Long term plans.
1. Turbo conversion
2. Decide on engine management

That is all...for now.

Thanks Nitin.

You don't happen to have a spare pair of sidelight bulb holders do you?

Hi Nitin, it's the little holders that hold the tiny lights - I thing our headlights have Main, Dipped and sidelights. They are really tiny - about 7mm in diameter.

They hold http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=sideli ... 29,r:5,s:0 bulbs.

I need a pair with a few inches of wire if that's ok.

Cheers.

Hey all.

Good news - took the car for its MOT today. Passed with no drama whatsoever.

When I went to the workshop to get the exhaust fitted, it was impossible as there were 2 cars in there that needed to be pushed out to make way, and pushing cars on icy ground is no fun, so postponed until next Saturday.

I have planned some faffing for Saturday - engine clean, light relocation and possibly a wash too.

Pics later.
